Where I'm From

Born and raised playin in the rocky mountains of Jackson Hole, WY!

My Dance Training

I started out at Dancer's Workshop, in Jackson, under the direction of Babs Case. College brought me to the east coast where I received my BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts, and trained with Raegan Wood, Randy James, Brian Brooks, and Larry Clark. This summer I'll be heading to Lucca, Italy to for the Dance Italia summer intensive on scholarship.

My Dance Experience

I have performed the work of Brian Brooks, Danielle Agami, Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollack, Randy James, and Jaques Heim. Recent credits include Gutai: Splendid Playground opening gala at the Guggenheim, Far Away directed by Sina Heiss, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, and RedDot Dance.

Other Work Experience

ski instructor, retail, waitress, bartender, intern, administrative assistant.
Currently the Director of Administration for
Inception to Exhibition, an artists' service non-profit; and as a barista at the Grey Dog, come get a coffee!

Method For Treating Body Soreness

tennis balls and arnica balm

A Dance Injury

While in college I had a herniated disc and thought that was it. It took some time to conquer, but here I am, back in the game.

Other Passions & Interests

I started skiing at the same time that I began dancing, and at one point I had to make the decision of which of these two passions to choose as my direction in life. Guess which one I chose? I also whitewater kayak, longboard, and bike...anything that goes fast!

A Cool Place I Visited While Dancing

I volunteered in Bagamoyo, Tanzania with a local youth arts organization. They taught me some dance, I taught them some dance, we all laughed a lot.

My Favorite Rehearsal Snack

fuji apple and raw almond butter

Music I Warm Up To

In the past couple weeks it's been Alt-J and James Blake, but it's usually the Ramones.

Why do you dance?

why do I breathe?

What do you love about dancing?

I love knowing that if i ever feel low or tired, dancing rejuvenates both body and soul. It connects me to my self, my community, and my art.

What's the hardest part of being a dancer?

Freelancing in any field can be insecure and difficult financially, and dance doesn't quite have the pay-off that other professions do; but people do crazy things for love.
